Intel LGA1700 motherboards are made for 12th, 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors. Our range has over 200 models in micro ATX, ATX and mini ITX sizes, suited to gaming PCs, office workstations and creative builds. GIGABYTE, ASUS, ASRock and MSI supply the most models.
How to choose an LGA1700 motherboard
Chipset. Z-series chipsets (Z690, Z790) let you overclock K-series processors, while B and H-series boards are usually enough for an office or standard gaming PC. You only need a Z-series board if you really plan to adjust clock speeds.
Memory. A board supports either DDR4 or DDR5, never both, so choose the memory to match the board rather than the other way round. In our range the maximum supported memory runs from 64 GB to 256 GB. 64 GB is enough for a home or office PC, while 128 GB or more is worth looking for if you run virtual machines or edit video.
Form factor. The board has to fit your case. Most models in our range are micro ATX, and you will also find ATX, mini ITX, Thin Mini ITX and Extended ATX. ATX boards generally offer more expansion slots and connectors, while mini ITX boards suit small cases but have only one expansion slot.
M.2 and SATA. Boards in our range have between one and five M.2 slots, and most have at least two. Four SATA III connectors are the usual count, with a few boards offering six or more. If you plan several SSDs and hard drives, count the connectors before you buy.
Networking and USB. Nearly all boards have a single Ethernet (RJ-45) port, and only a few have two or three. The number of internal USB connectors varies, so check that there are enough for your case's front panel.

Frequently asked questions
Which processors fit LGA1700 motherboards?
The LGA1700 socket is made for 12th, 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors, as well as some Pentium Gold and Celeron models. Older processors, such as 10th or 11th generation chips, do not fit this socket. The board manufacturer always publishes the exact list of supported processors.
Does an LGA1700 motherboard use DDR4 or DDR5 memory?
It depends on the specific model, because each board supports only one memory type. DDR4 and DDR5 modules are physically different and cannot be swapped. Check the board's specification before buying memory.
Do I need a BIOS update for a 13th or 14th generation processor?
Some older 600-series boards do, while newer boards often come ready for these processors. The manufacturer's processor support list for your exact board model gives the definite answer. If the BIOS version does not support the processor, the board may not start until you update it.
What is the difference between Z and B-series boards?
Z-series boards allow overclocking of K-series processors and generally offer more connectors and fast slots. B-series boards are mostly aimed at everyday work and gaming without overclocking. If you do not plan to change clock speeds, a B-series board is usually enough.
