Midi tower cases are mid-sized upright PC enclosures for desktop builds, taking a standard ATX motherboard, a full-length graphics card and several drives. Our range has over 1700 models in black, white and a few other finishes, from brands such as Thermaltake, Fractal Design, Corsair and Deepcool.
How to choose a midi tower case
Motherboard format. Most midi towers accept ATX, micro-ATX and mini-ITX boards, but E-ATX support is less common, so check the model's specification. The power supply format should match as well.
Airflow and fans. A mesh front lets in more air than a solid glass panel, which helps a hot processor and graphics card. In our range the rear fan mount is most often 120 mm, many cases also take 140 mm, and the top usually holds two or three fans. Some cases come with fans fitted, such as the Darkflash DK431 Mesh with four ARGB fans.
Component clearance. Check the maximum graphics card length, CPU cooler height and radiator sizes, because long cards and tall air coolers are the usual reason a build does not fit.
Storage bays. Many cases in our range have two 3.5-inch bays, and 2.5-inch bays run from one to six, which is enough for an SSD plus a couple of hard drives. For a larger drive collection, look for models with four or more 3.5-inch bays.
Front connectors. Most cases list two front USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, while some have one or none. Check this if you connect many devices.

What is a midi tower case?

Will an ATX motherboard fit in a midi tower?
Yes, most midi towers are designed for ATX motherboards and normally accept the smaller micro-ATX and mini-ITX boards too. Support for E-ATX should be confirmed in the specification of the particular model.
How many fans does a midi tower case need?
Two fans are usually enough for a mainstream PC: one at the front drawing air in and one at the rear pushing it out. If the processor and graphics card run very hot, two or three front intake fans plus one or two at the top are worth having. Many cases in our range have room for two or three fans in the top panel.
Is a mesh front better than a glass front?
A mesh front is better for airflow, because air enters more freely and the PC generally runs cooler. A glass front looks more striking but restricts intake, so a mesh front is usually the safer choice for a high-performance build.
