Simulator equipment

Simulator equipment in this category means racing simulator cockpits and related accessories for people who want to mount a wheel and pedals on a stable frame rather than on a desk. Our range includes OPLITE products, from simpler accessories to larger structures for a home simulator.

How to choose simulator equipment

Compatibility with your wheel and pedals. Check that the cockpit's mounting holes and plates match your wheel base and pedal set. Direct drive wheels and load cell pedals generate much greater forces than entry-level models, so compare the mounting patterns in the manufacturers' specifications before you buy.

Frame rigidity. A steel frame or thick aluminium profile flexes less under hard braking and strong steering forces. If you own a strong force feedback wheel, rigidity matters more than extra features, because a flexing frame blurs the feel of the car and wears out sooner.

Adjustability. Seat distance, pedal plate angle and wheel height need to suit your height and leg length. If several people will use the simulator, choose a design with a wider adjustment range and quick-release fixings.

Space in the room. Measure the free area and consider whether you will need to move the rig out of the way every day. Foldable designs take up less room but are usually less rigid than permanently set-up cockpits.

Budget and expansion. The price range in our selection runs from simpler accessories to more professional equipment. Decide in advance whether you are buying only a cockpit or plan to add a monitor stand, a gearstick mount or other extras later, and pick a model that can take them.

Brands we carry

  • OPLITE: a manufacturer known for racing simulator cockpits and seats aimed at drivers who want a permanent place for their wheel and pedals.

All products in this category currently come from the same manufacturer, so your choice comes down to the specific model, its dimensions and compatibility rather than the brand.

Frequently asked questions

What do you need to build a racing simulator?

You need a wheel with pedals, a PC or games console, and a stable mounting solution: a desk clamp or a cockpit. A cockpit is especially useful if your wheel is strong or you play often, because the structure stays put and your seating position is always the same.

Is a cockpit better than clamping a wheel to a desk?

A cockpit is more rigid and allows a more realistic seating position. A wheel clamped to a desk can wobble or tilt, and pedals often slide across the floor. In a cockpit everything is fixed to one frame, so the forces do not travel into the desk.

Will a cockpit fit every wheel and pedal set?

Not always. Mounting hole layouts differ between manufacturers, so compare the wheel base and pedal plate patterns with the cockpit specification before buying. If the holes do not line up, an adapter plate can sometimes help, but it usually has to be sourced separately.

How do I adjust a cockpit to my height?

Slide the seat so that your legs stay slightly bent when you press the pedal fully down. Set the wheel at a height and distance where your elbows are gently bent and your shoulders relaxed. After the first few hours of driving, you will often want to fine-tune the pedal angle.
