Car holders for phones, tablets and other devices, from simple air vent clips to modular mounts for vans and work vehicles. The category suits everyday drivers, couriers and anyone who needs satnav or a tablet in the car. Brands in our range include RAM Mounts, Baseus, Vention and FIXED.
How to choose a car holder
Mounting position. A holder can attach to the windscreen with a suction cup, to the dashboard, to an air vent or to another part of the car. Vent holders keep the windscreen clear but may struggle with a heavier device. A suction cup grips well on smooth glass, although some countries restrict what may be placed on the windscreen.
Device size. Check that the clamp opening fits your phone together with its case. Tablets need separate, sturdier holders, and the RAM Mounts system offers different sizes of ball mount and clamp for them.
Holding method. A clamp holder fits almost any phone and keeps it secure on rough roads. A magnetic holder is easier to use with one hand, but the phone or case needs a metal plate or a compatible magnetic system.
Stability. A long connecting arm sways more, so the screen shakes on uneven surfaces. For lorries, vans and work vehicles, a bolt-on or modular mount is usually a better choice than a suction cup.
Adjustment and charging. A ball joint lets you turn the screen towards the driver. If you want to charge the phone at the same time, choose a holder with wireless charging, or make sure the cable does not get in the way of the gear lever.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the best place to mount a phone holder in a car?
The best spot keeps the phone in view without blocking the road. Usually that means an air vent or the dashboard, while a suction cup on the windscreen should only be used where local traffic rules allow it. Make sure the holder does not get in the way of the controls.
Can a magnetic holder damage my phone?
Modern phones are not normally harmed by the magnets in car holders, as screens and batteries are not affected. A magnet may slightly disturb the phone's compass. For magnetic mounting you need a metal plate fixed to the phone or case, or a case with built-in magnets.
Can I use a phone holder for a tablet?
Usually not, because a tablet is larger and heavier than a phone. It needs a holder with wider clamps and a sturdier base, such as a modular RAM Mounts setup. Check the maximum device width the holder supports before buying.
Will a holder fit a phone with a thick case?
That depends on the clamp opening, so measure the phone with the case on first. With a thick case, choose an adjustable clamp holder with a larger maximum width. In a magnetic holder, a thick case can weaken the grip.
