Graphics cards extras

This category covers graphics cards built on NVIDIA and AMD graphics processors, plus accessories for them, such as water cooling blocks and thermal products. It suits gamers, content creators and PC builders. Our range has over 140 products, with brands including ASUS, GIGABYTE, PNY and ALPHACOOL.

How to choose a graphics card or accessory

Card or accessory. Decide first whether you need a new graphics card or something for the one you already own. Water blocks, thermal paste and thermal pads only make sense if you plan to improve cooling or renew the thermal interface on an existing card.

Memory type and bus. Cards in our range use GDDR7 and GDDR6 memory, and a few older ones use GDDR5. GDDR7 is the newest type and appears on current-generation models. Memory bus width runs from 64 to 256 bit, with a few wider ones; 128 bit is common on entry-level and mid-range cards. Look at type and bus together, because neither tells the whole story alone.

Size and fit. Cards come as FH/HL (full-height, half-length) and FH/FL (full-height, full-length). Check the card's length, its thickness in slots, the free space in your case and the connectors on your power supply before ordering.

Video outputs. Many of our cards have three DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI, and some have two HDMI. Count the monitors you plan to connect. Many high refresh rate monitors are connected over DisplayPort.

Cooling part compatibility. A water block is usually made for specific card models and their board layout, so check the exact list of compatible models. Thermal paste suits a wide variety of cards, whereas thermal pads differ in thickness, so follow the manufacturer's guidance.

Frequently asked questions

Does a graphics card need a water block?

No, most graphics cards work well with their factory air cooling. A water block is worth considering if you are building a liquid-cooled PC or want a quieter system. It must be made for your exact card model.

What is the difference between GDDR7 and GDDR6?

GDDR7 is the newer memory type and can move more data per second than GDDR6 at the same bus width. Real performance still depends mainly on the graphics processor, so compare the whole specification rather than the memory type alone.

How do I know if a graphics card will fit my case?

Compare the card's length and thickness with the maximum graphics card size stated by your case manufacturer. Our range includes both FH/HL and FH/FL cards, and the latter take up more space. Also leave room for the power cables.

How many monitors can I connect to a graphics card?

As many as the card's outputs and specification allow. Many of our cards have three DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI, and some have two HDMI. Check the number and type of outputs before buying so they match your monitors' inputs.
