How to choose a PC case
Motherboard size. The case must support your motherboard's form factor. Most ATX cases also take micro-ATX and Mini-ITX boards, but a Mini-ITX case will not hold a full-size ATX board. It is best to choose the case and the board together.
Airflow and cooling. A mesh front panel and several fans keep the graphics card and processor cooler than a solid front panel does. Check how many fans come in the box and whether a radiator fits if you plan on liquid cooling. Our range includes, for example, the Darkflash DK431 Mesh case with four ARGB fans.
Component clearance. Look in the specifications for the maximum graphics card length, CPU cooler height and power supply size. Long modern graphics cards and tall air coolers are the most common reasons a build does not fit.
Drive bays and front connections. Count the 2.5 and 3.5 inch bays if you plan to fit several drives. A front USB-C port is useful, but it needs a matching header on the motherboard. Many modern cases no longer have a bay for an optical drive.
Colour and side panel. Black is the most common colour in our range, but there are also white, grey, silver, transparent and aluminium cases. A tempered glass side panel shows off the components, though it calls for tidier cable routing.

Frequently asked questions about PC cases
What size of PC case should I choose?
Choose according to your motherboard format and the size of your components. An ATX case has room for the most parts and is usually the easiest to cool, while a Mini-ITX case takes up the least space but limits graphics card length and cooler height.
Is a mesh front panel better than a glass one?
For cooling, a mesh panel is better because the fans can draw in more air through it. A glass front looks cleaner but restricts airflow, so components may run hotter. The right choice depends on whether temperatures or looks matter more to you.
How many fans should a PC case have?
At least one rear fan to push air out and one or two at the front to draw air in is a sensible minimum. Gaming builds often use three or more. Many cases have spare fan positions, so you can add more fans later.
Does a PC case come with a power supply?
Most PC cases are sold without a power supply, although some models have one built in. The product description will say so. If there is none, you need to buy one separately and check that it fits the case.
