The Local Monitoring mode allows you to hear your voice and audio in real time without lag, which greatly facilitates streaming, podcasting and voice work. The whole thing is complemented by Smart Ducking, which automatically lowers the volume of background music while you're speaking and smoothly restores it after you've finished speaking - with no manual adjustments and no sudden changes in sound levels.
